STIJL is the retail shop companion to Studio Tashtego, a decorative art and design gallery in Cold Spring, NY. This is a space where craftsmanship, artistry, and aesthetics are at the forefront. We aim to bring collectible design and craft pieces to the Hudson Valley, to both its inhabitants and visitors. At STIJL, thoughtful design and art enables us to live with intention and appreciation. The shop is devoted to highlighting exceptional craft and design, first and foremost. Works by skilled artists from all over the globe are on display, drawing on a variety of aesthetic and craft traditions to create their works. Whether it's a tea bowl ("chawan"), sculptural tableware or handcrafted basketry, each work inspires awe and invites the user to pause to observe the details.
